HOLYROOD Academy has been celebrating its sporting talent this week after a run of success at District level.

The Year 7 Girls came first in their category at the Indoor Athletics competition held at Bucklers Mead on November 21.

They had a very successful afternoon competing against Bucklers Mead, Preston, Westfield and Maiden Beech and now go through to the County Finals in February.

The Year 8 Boys Rugby team played some outstanding rugby on Monday, November 26 at Chard RFC, beating Huish Episcopi 20-10 to be crowned Area Champions.

It was a great game for all the boys, with man of the match honours shared between the try-scorers Harvi Gardiner (3) and Callum North.

The Year 8 Girls Hockey team smashed their way to the top at Westfield Academy on 27th November, winning all three of their games at the Area Finals, scoring 20 goals and conceding only three.

Players of the match were top goalscorer Freya Hibbard and Sophie Finch, who excelled in defence, but all nine girls played tremendously. The county finals are up next.
