BURNHAM United suffered late heartbreak on Saturday, having matched County League Division 1 leaders Bridgwater Town Reserves at Cassis Close.
Patrick O’Halloran converted Josh Champion’s cross with five minutes to go to seal a 1-0 win.
The game saw the return of Mike Stevens to the first team, after a long journey back from breaking his fibula and tibia at the end of 2016/17 season.
In Division 3, Burnham United Reserves moved up to eighth spot with a 2-0 win over Tunley Athletic.
Dax Vincent and Benny Windram netted for the away side.
Wedmore are without a win in six in Division 1 of the Weston-super-Mare & District League, after they lost 2-1 at Sporting Weston.
Nick Beason scored for Wedmore, but Luke Kershaw and Robert Salmon won it for the hosts.
Burnham United A have really hit their stride in Division 3, easing past Sporting Weston Reserves 5-0 for a fifth win on the trot.
Cain Smith bagged a brace, with Louie Jones, Ollie Taylor and Cam Derrick also on target.
Huntspill Crowns kept themselves in third in Division 4, by beating Nailsea United C 3-1, thanks to goals from Adam Lock, Brynn Pearce and Tom McCollum.
Wedmore Reserves lost 2-1 at home to AFC Nailsea Reserves, despite Jonathan Bethell’s goal, while Burnham United B were awarded a walkover against Wrington Redhill A.
On Sunday, Burnham United Ladies were unable to raise a side to face Pen Mill Reserves.

WEST Bower reclaimed top spot in the Bridgwater & District Sunday League, as Harry Taylor hit a hat-trick at Red Road Rangers.
Bower’s other goals came from Tom Merritt (2), Liam Winter and Samual Anthony in a 7-3 win.
Third-placed Huntspill Crowns demolished hosts Spaxton Rangers, 10-2.
Curtis Bradshaw and Wayne Hand grabbed a hat-trick apiece for Crowns, with Tyrese Stewart, AJ Mockridge, Cameron Derrick and Ryan Kercher also netting.
There was a thrilling encounter between Highburn Athletic and Spaxton Stags, which finished 4-4.
Ollie Down (3) and Cam Wilkinson scored for Stags.
In Division 2, Huntspill Crowns BPH edged past Victoria Gate Albion, 6-5, as Ben Fursland’s late winner settled it after Crowns had blown a 5-2 lead.
Fursland scored four in total, with Tony Oliva and James Pitham also netting.
