TWO former Taunton Titans forwards could be set for appearances in this year's Autumn Internationals.

Ben Moon and Sam Skinner, both of Exeter Chiefs, have been selected by England and Scotland, respectively, ahead of the upcoming matches against teams from the southern hemisphere.

Moon, a 29-year-old prop, scored three tries in 25 appearances for Taunton as a 17-year-old in the 2007/08 season.

He received his maiden England call-up as part of a training squad in September and has done enough to maintain his place in Eddie Jones' final 36-man squad for the matches against South Africa (November 3), New Zealand (November 10), Japan (November 17) and Australia (November 24).

Skinner, 23, was with the Titans between 2013 and 2014 having come through the ranks at Topsham RFC, near Exeter.

The second row impressed at Hyde Park and became a part of the Chiefs academy early in the 2014/15 season, while also later captaining the Exeter University side to BUCS success and featuring for England Under-20s.

His appearances at England youth level did not dampen the interest from north of the border, however, and Scotland coach Gregor Townsend has made Skinner - who qualifies through his father, Peter - one of three uncapped players in his 40-man squad for matches against Fiji, South Africa and Argentina.

Exeter Chiefs coach Rob Baxter told BBC Sport: "Sam's been aware of an interest from Scotland for a little while, he made us aware of that right from the start so it hasn't come as a surprise.

"We're delighted for him. As ever, I'm disappointed that an EQP (English Qualified Player) guy, who is playing Premiership rugby, ends up being capped by another country as we're an English club and we'd like our guys playing for England.

"But ultimately you want your players to be playing at the highest level they can play.

"He's very keen and determined to play for Scotland, they've been very positive with their approach to him, so it's going to be an interesting autumn for him."
