TAUNTON Town's interim manager Rob Dray has insisted his side will fear no-one in the FA Cup this season.

Saturday's 4-0 win over previously unbeaten Western League Premier outfit Bitton carried the Peacocks into the third qualifying round, where they could face the likes of Torquay United or Truro City, now managed by former Taunton boss Leigh Robinson.

The draw is made on Monday, looking ahead to which Dray said: "A home draw would be great but we don’t mind anybody – the bigger the better.

"We prioritise the FA Cup and the FA Trophy as you can make fantastic memories. A cup run drags the side together and adds to the spirit.

“There are two games until the first round and anything could happen.

"We are capable of beating anybody and nobody will really want to come here. If we have to go away then so be it – we are ready for whatever is put in front of us."

Dray was delighted with the professional nature of the job done by his side on Saturday, while also content with the fact four different players got their names on the scoresheet.

“It’s never easy. Subconsciously, whether you like it or not, players always drop 5% [against lower level opposition]," he said.

"This result showed that this lot don’t do that. We were relentless, kept going and kept asking questions.

“They are a good side and will do very well in their division. They are unbeaten and had conceded one goal until last week – we’ve stuck four past them and hit the post twice, so credit to our boys.

“The third goal was the best goal we’ve scored this year. Something we’ve been drilling into the lads is that we have to be better on the ball and have a Plan B.

"We have some very good technical footballers this year and we can score goals from anywhere. I want to start with three of the four strikers so we have to defend from the front.

"We want to get that front six [midfielders Ryan Brett, Matt Buse and Ollie Chamberlain and strikers Andrew Neal, Matt Wright and Dan Sullivan] out every week as it’s devastating – we’ve scored 15 and conceded one in the last three weeks. It doesn’t matter who it’s against – I want to get that front six out."

Dray remains hopeful of adding to the squad, with announcements on a couple of incoming players expected in the next week or two.
