THERE were a course record 499 runners at Longrun Meadow Parkrun on Saturday, for the NHS Takeover celebrating the health service’s 70th birthday.
Serveral of those runners were dressed on a medical theme, while all of the volunteers for the event were local NHS staff, many from Musgrove Park Hospital.
The fastest finisher in Taunton was Andrew Smith, in a personal best time of 17m 05s.
Rob Smyth (17:15) was second and Joe Orme (18:10) third, with fourth-placed Hannah Taunton (18:13) the first woman to cross the line.
