TAUNTON Town aim to extend their unbeaten league run to 20 games against Swindon Supermarine on Saturday (ko 3pm).

The Peacocks were set to host Wimborne Town on Tuesday night, but the game was postponed (for the fourth time) due to a waterlogged pitch.

The club are optimistic that Saturday’s home match will go ahead, though, and boss Leigh Robinson will have the same squad from last weekend’s win over Yate Town (see page 127).

Ollie Chamberlain and Matt Wright, on the bench for that game, should be fully fit to face Supermarine, against whom they won 3-2 in October’s reverse fixture.

Robinson said: “We always have good games [against Supermarine], and had one of our best wins this season there.”

This weekend’s visitors have had some upheaval since then, sacking manager Dave Webb and sliding to ninth in the table, but 18-goal striker Josh Grace Parsons remains a threat.

“He’s a really good player and we were fortunate that he missed the game in October,” Robinson added.

“But we will prepare fully as always and there will be no complacency.”

Reflecting on last weekend's 2-0 win at Yate, Robinson said: Robinson said: “There was a bit of that [avenging Yate’s win in Taunton], as the players were desperate not to lose to the same team twice.

“From a management point of view, losing that game was the best thing that could have happened to us, as it highlighted our flaws and we’ve been able to fix them.

“Shane [White] gives us 200 per cent every week as well as leadership.

“He pushed into midfield more on Saturday, and clearly he likes playing at Yate because he scored two goals there last season!”
