WELLINGTON continue their Toolstation Western League Premier campaign away to Shepton Mallet tomorrow (ko 3pm), looking to end a run of three defeats.

Tuesday night saw Clive Jones' side lose 2-1 at Wells City, as they levelled through Sam Towler's 25-yard strike but lost out to a 90th minute goal from a corner.

This weekend, Wellington travel to Shepton Mallet, who are also yet to win this season – having lost 1-0 to both Cribbs and Buckland Athletic in their two games so far.

In terms of what his side need to do to get a point or three on the board, Jones said: “More of what we did on [Tuesday] night.

“We need to hang on in there in games, not feel sorry for ourselves, and take Shepton on.”

After Saturday’s game, Wellington are back in action on Wednesday, August 23, with a trip to Bridport.

BISHOPS Lydeard aim to get back to winning ways at home to Westbury United on Saturday (ko 3pm), following two 4-0 home defeats in the Western League First Division.

Manager Brett Andrews said: “We’ve been creating chances and not scoring, even in the defeats.

“If we’d taken those chances they would have been different games; as it was, we were chasing them.

“We need to be more clinical and cut out the mistakes at the back – it’s that simple.”

Westbury United have won two and drawn two to start the season.

“They’re near the top, having made a good start,” added Andrews.

“It will be another tough game for us.”
