BRIDGWATER Town travel to Chard Town tomorrow for their penultimate pre-season friendly (ko 3pm).

Chard - also known as the Robins - play in the Toolstation Western League First Division, one level below Bridgwater.

It comes off the back of two 2-1 friendly wins this week, at home to Middlezoy Rovers and away to Caldicot Town.

Somerset County League side Middlezoy took a 27th-minute lead through Paul Stimpson, but the hosts were ahead at half time thanks to Dave Pearse (34 minutes) and Syd Camper (39 minutes), and they saw out the win in what was a competitive encounter.

Then, last (Thursday) night, Bridgwater travelled to Welsh League Division 2 side Caldicot, and again came from behind to claim the win.

Ben Smith gave the Welsh club the lead on 37 minutes, but Kyle Paine levelled just four minutes later.

Paine scored again three minutes after the interval, and the visitors held on to come away with victory.

Bridgwater complete their pre-season schedule on Tuesday (August 1, ko 7.45pm), against Taunton Town at Fairfax Park.
