TEN teams from around the county took part in Victoria Park’s annual Mixed Triples.

Each team played four games during the day, scoring points for ends won as well as points for winning the game.

The North Petherton-based trio of Sue Mottershead, Mike Glendinning and skip Chris Hodgett took the trophy and cash prize by just one point from Eric Shackleford, Tessa Furzeman and Chas Furzeman.

The Victoria Park president, Pat Hill, introduced John Biffen of H. Biffen & Sons Ltd, Funeral Directors, who supported the event.

Before making the presentation, Mr Biffen congratulated all the members of the Victoria Park who had helped in any way during the day for making it so successful.

He especially mentioned those members who worked so hard providing welcome teas and biscuits on arrival, then a wonderful two-course lunch followed by more tea with cakes in the afternoon.

Mr Biffen said he was proud to have supported the competition and hoped to see more teams attend the event next year.

DESPITE losing on two of the three rinks, Victoria Park beat North Petherton A by one shot overall in their West Somerset League match.

In the BBA Challenge Shield, Victoria won three of the four rinks and by 10 shots against Bridgwater.
