BURNHAM-ON-SEA 1st XV return to action after having last weekend off, as they aim to retain their Western Counties West status.

Their six league wins have all come at home, and so they need to make the most of their three remaining matches at the BASC Ground, starting against Devonport Services tomorrow.

Devonport are third and defeated Burnham 24-19 in the reverse fixture, so will prove a real test for the hosts.

They are fourth from bottom in the standings, with their 35-point tally putting them two points behind Tiverton and just one ahead of both Bude (at home to St Ives this weekend) and Crediton (away to Wadebridge).

Burnham’s 2nd XV, fourth in Somerset 2 South, travel to Chard 2nds this weekend.

They are 13 points behind third-placed Winscombe 2nds, but they hold three games in hand.

Chard are ninth in the table, but were impressive 59-17 winners at Somerton last weekend - and they are seeking their third straight home victory.
