CHARD Town are at home again tomorrow, when they take on much-improved Bishop Sutton in the First Division of the Toolstation Western League (ko 3pm).

After three successive wins against top sides, Chard made a very disappointing start to the New Year last Saturday, going down 2-0 to an Ashton & Backwell United side reduced to 10 men for all but 10 minutes.

Chard manager Paul Down felt his team "were off the pace all through the side - a shock for all of us, but a reality check in terms of our development".

He added: “We have to regroup and try to find the solution to our inconsistency.”

Striker Scott Martin and midfielder Matt Howell should be back on Saturday but fellow striker Steve Friend’s hand injury will keep him out for at least another fortnight.

Skipper Taoufik Ben Salem picked up a nasty ankle injury and is doubtful for the Bishop Sutton encounter.

Dave Duarte has work commitments.

Also on Saturday, Ilminster Town are at home to Uphill Castle in Somerset County Division 1W (ko 2pm).

The third-placed Blues were beaten 1-0 by league leaders Portishead Town Reserves last weekend, losing their unbeaten home record in the process.

Against Uphill Castle, Ilminster will also hope to improve from the away match that ended 3-3 and return to winning ways.

Ilminster Town Ladies, having drawn 2-2 with FC Chippenham last weekend, host Team Mendip on Sunday (ko 2pm).

Their opponents are currently bottom of the South West Women's Football League Eastern Division, whereas lie fifth.
