BELEAGUERED Bridgwater Town travel to high-fliers Evesham United tomorrow (ko 3pm) in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South and West.

It is a tough task to end a difficult week for Town, who lost their manager Craig Laird to Dorchester Town on New Year's Day, before being beaten 5-0 at home by Paulton Rovers on Monday.

Reserve team manager Dan Wright took charge for that match, and the club are inviting applications for the post vacated by Laird - up to this Monday's (January 9) deadline.

Evesham, who currently sit in the promotion playoff places, were 5-0 winners at Fairfax Park when the sides met in September – Lance Smith helping himself to four goals in that match.

They are, however, on a patchy run of form, with four defeats from six games, as they lost 2-1 away to leaders Hereford on Monday.

Bridgwater Town Reserves, who won 2-1 at Middlezoy Rovers on Monday, are now off duty until January 21.

Alex Male and Matt Connick scored the goals to defeat Middlezoy and lift Bridgwater to 12th in the Somerset County Premier Division.

Their next outing is a trip to Chilcompton Sports (ko 2pm), who sit above Bridgy, but were beaten 6-1 in the reverse fixture in September, Nash Eastwood, Adam Long, Owen Sellick, Joshua White and Chris Young (2) netting for the hosts.
