LUCY Shuker has secured a British victory at the Bath Indoor Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, taking the women’s doubles title with partner Diede de Groot.

Having teamed up to win the Doubles Masters in California two weeks ago, Shuker, who hails from Ash Priors, and de Groot, of the Netherlands, joined forces once again to compete at the Bath event.

And the pair maintained their unbeaten record together as they beat second seeds Marjolein Buis (Netherlands) and Katharina Kruger (Germany) by a 6-2, 6-1 scoreline in the final of the tournament.

Reflecting on their victory, Shuker commented: “Diede is a lovely player and it’s great to win the title here in Bath.

“We’ve both said we’ve really enjoyed playing together over the last few tournaments and it’s something we would like to carry on.”

“I’m feeling good physically and mentally heading into the Singles Masters in just under two weeks’ time,” she added.

“It will be nice to be back in London, and playing in a round robin format means you can have the odd bad game and still do well, so I’m looking forward to it.”
