COLIN Shepherd and Sue Corlett have won the Roffey Cup Autumn Mixed Greensomes competition at Oake Manor Golf club with 43 points.

John Byrne and Sue Reed were second on 41, third were Colin Corlett and Liz How with 40 and fourth James Ward and Shane Bordier.

Sue Reed won nearest the pin on the 10th hole and John Atkinson was nearest the pin on the 14th hole.

The competition was played in glorious autumn sunshine with the golf course in superb condition and ever one enjoyed a delicious Oake Manor meal after the competition.

  • VIVARY senior David Willis, who only recently took up the game of golf, won back-to-back medal competitions, and had his handicap slashed by four shots.

Willis came home with a net 62 to win the October Medal by four shots from Dave Beale and Charles Hall. Beale took second on countback.

In the ninth and last of the Eric Hood Eclectic Medal competitions Willis re- corded a net 58, two better than Gra- ham Morris on 60, and seven better than Chris Stone and Nigel Griffin on 65. Stone took third on countback.

Overall, the Eclectic Cup was won by Pete Jeffery, who had led from the start in April. He recorded a 57.2. Second was Phil Nicholls with a 58.5, and Chris Stone third with 59.7.

The popular Texas Scramble was won by the team of Dave Beale, Mike Manning and John Troake scoring 46.3.

Second were Rod Hobson, Dave Thomas and John Blissitt with 47.

Bob Stock and Barrie Cridland both returned in the Alf Brasher Stableford with a 43, but Stock gained the honours with a better back nine. Dave Beale was third on 42.

The September Driver was won with a 42 from Graham Morris. With a 41, Richard Brown came second on count-back from Dave Hinton who recorded the same score.

High scores were again posted in the Equinox Stableford which saw Chris Stone and Graham Morris fighting for first place with 42 each.
