A BREATHTAKING FA Cup preliminary round tie between Taunton Town and rivals Tiverton finished 4-4 at the Viridor Stadium this afternoon - meaning the sides must do it all over again at Ladysmead on Tuesday night.

But, in truth, the Peacocks will be kicking themselves after being pegged back on three occasions by 10-man Tiverton, who had Rob Norrish sent off just before the break.

Seven of the eight goals came in an action-packed first half.

After Levi Landricombe had cancelled out Jordan Rogers' fourth minute penalty, two goals in three minutes just before the half-hour mark - through Owen Irish and a Ben Mammola own goal respectively - put Taunton 3-1 up.

However the Yellows replied with two more Landricombe goals on 37 and 42 - the second a stunning free-kick - to compete his hat-trick and level it up at 3-3.

But, back came Taunton, with Adam Kelly putting them back in front 4-3 right on the stroke of half time.

Kelly was then clean through again moments later when he was bright down by Norrish, giving referee Matthew Rushton no choice but to send the Tiverton man for an early shower.

Hitman Matt Wright fired over the target as Taunton chased a fifth a before a stunning long-range strike from Nick Hurst saw the visitors level once again 20 minutes from time to earn themselves a replay.

The winners of the replay will be at home to Cinderford in the first qualifying round on Saturday, September 3.
