WITH spring arriving it was time for the Yeovilton 5K Series, a nice fast flat road race which drew nine CRR’s for an all-out top pace.

Wayne Loveridge set off at a blistering pace to be in among front runners from Gavin Wyatt, smashing his 21-minute goal by 15 seconds for a PB.

Matt Baker also had a goal in mind and there is little at the moment that stops him and he gained yet another PB.

Miranda Coleberd, Claire Gibbs and Mel Boarder had a real tussle before Miranda pulled ahead with Mel fighting off Vicky Musselwhite whose battle with Caroline Dismore lasted right up to the line providing Vicky with a PB.

Lindsey Quinlan was next pushing all the way but just missing out on a PB.

Sunday’s Honiton Hippo was a seven-mile multi-terrain challenge with mud, hills and two river crossings for more than 300 runners.

Rod McLean was first off the line to avoid any bottlenecks with Gavin Wyatt running his second race of the week and husband and wife Addie and Simon Douglass.

Gary Wheaton was off to a good start with the hills and mud bringing a smile to his face and Helen Baxter was in her normal battle with Simon Hall before heading over the line 11 seconds ahead.

Miranda came in ahead of Lizzy Smith who was loving the conditions and the trio of Lindsay Quinlan, Mel Boarder and Caroline Dismore who had as much fun in the mud and river crossings as possible.

The CRR’s crossed the line together with a smile that just said that was a fantastic run.
