AFC Totton 0 Taunton Town 2

TAUNTON Town got back on track with a fine 2-0 win at AFC Totton on Saturday.

Jordan Rogers and Nuno Felix were on target for the Peacocks in a commanding all-round performance.

It was Town's liveliest and most creative display for some time with every member of the team playing their part in ensuring maximum points returned to Somerset.

Totton had their keeper Steve Mowthorpe to thank for keeping the scoreline blank as the first half progressed, making an instinctive double stop from Craig Veal and then saving from Jordan Rogers and Ollie Chamberlain who excelled on his first start since signing on Thursday.

Ben Carter also saw a free-kick fly just over the bar before Town's penetrative football paid off five minutes from the interval when a Dale Evans corner wasn't cleared, falling for Jordan Rogers to fire home from the centre of the area.

There was still time before the break for Mowthorpe to deny Jamie Short twice but the second half was only ten minutes old when Town doubled their advantage.

A Jamie Price run forward culminated in the ball reaching Nuno Felix just beyond Mowthorpe's right hand post and he could do nothing to stop Felix netting with an accomplished finish into the opposite corner.

Totton raised home hopes as they enjoyed more possession for a time but apart from a Nick Watts free kick which Lloyd Irish touched over, they found it difficult to carve out any chances against an organised Peacocks backline.

Veal, Rogers and Felix all had further sniffs of goal as Town saw out the game without alarm to claim an encouraging victory.
