TAUNTON punters are in for a treat at today's meet because there is an extra race on the card which now starts at 12.40pm.
With 82 runners declared, a going of good to soft-good in places and top trainers Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs, David Pipe and Colin Tizzard all represented another thrilling afternoon’s action looks to be in store.
The big race of the day is the Weatherbys Novices Limited Handicap Chase a Class 3 event over just short of three miles at 2.20pm where Saint Roque trained by Nicholls and ridden by Sean Bowen is likely favourite, while Kilmurny under Nick Schofield for Jeremy Scott is another set to be in contention.
Two other horses to look out for are Ballyegan, owned by the Bob Buckler Racing Club who runs in the 3.25pm, making his first appearance at Taunton this season where he won four races last term, and Sabroclair in the 4.00pm, who is owned by the Taunton Racecourse Owners Club who is making his home debut.
A courtesy coach departs from Taunton Station two hours before the first race and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
