Neptune 26 Sharks 33

NEPTUNE suffered a seven-point defeat at title-chasing Sharks from Yeovil on Saturday.

With tenacious opposition, Neptune started tentatively allowing Sharks to pull away in the first-half, trailing at half-time by 14 goals to 23.

During the second-half Neptune improved their game and played stronger as a team, with great defending and accurate passing into the shooters by joint players of the match Emily Rossiter (GD) and Olivia Shorthouse (WA).

Despite Neptune’s best efforts the damage was done and they struggled to bridge the gap and lost 33-26.

Venus 11 Kestrels 39

ON a cold and blustery morning, Venus were thrashed by a rampant Kestrels side.

The defensive duo of Emily Harwood (GK) and Hana Middleton (GD) attacked every pass and kept the team motivated.

Half-time saw a lot of changes - player of the match Kayleigh Haste, moved to WD from GS to help strengthen the defensive end whilst Cerys Ethridge moved to WA, feeding strong passes into the shooters Sharon Ethridge (GS) and Kia Jenner (GA).

Even though Venus were behind, Charlotte Setter (C) and Darcie Dunn (GD) worked hard to turn ball over and keep possession.

Despite a gutsy effort from everyone, Venus lost the game 39-11.

Mercury 18 Kites 47

MERCURY slumped to a heavy defeat at the hands of Kites.

Mercury ended the first quarter down 9-4, but the team kept defending, as the opposition fed the ball fluently down the court, ending the first-half 21-8.

Mercury started the third quarter with a different combination.

The centre court fed the ball well and the shooters put up some amazing shots, but were still loosing 13-36 at the end of this quarter.

In the final quarter the team intercepted, dodged and shot well but Kites were well ahead.

Bridgwater U14 26 Lawn U14 28

A fantastic team performance from the Bridgwater U14 A Team in their Regional Netball League, wasn’t quite enough as they slipped to a two-point defeat.

Bridgwater played their heart out and finished the first quarter at 6-6.

Swindon side then showed their experience and capability by applying further pressure and edged ahead by three goals at half-time.

However the girls in navy were not ready to throw in the towel and dug deep and with great grit and determination battled to the final whistle.
