CURRY Rivel stormed to an emphatic 141-run victory over Street II in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League, thanks mainly to a brilliant hundred from M Tilley.

Tilley scored 125 for Rivel as they posted 273-4 batting first, while D Higginson (64) and P Tilley (31*) also chipped in.

In reply, Street were blown away for just 132 with Higginson (3-18) following up his half-century with three wickets.

A Selway (2-17), P Tilley (2-27) and S Lock (2-21) were also in the wickets for Rivel.

In Division One, Watchet were 31-run winners at home to Winscombe.

R Strong (43) and P Manley (28) top scored for Watchet in a total of 161, before three wickets from L Woolgrove (3-19) and two apiece for D Bowden (2-16), M Strong (2-41) and M Lovell (2-50) sealed victory.

Staplegrove II cruised to a six-wicket victory over Trull in Division Four after a dominant bowling performance.

D Bailey (4-21) and M Bird (3-26) tore through the Trull middle-order to help dismiss them for 117 inside 41 overs – in reply, J Pantling led the way for Grove with 59 to wrap up the win.

In Division Six, Taunton St Andrews A were six-wicket winners at Purnells II thanks to a fine spell from J Woodland.

Woodland took 5-11 from eight overs to bowl the home side out for 139, before M White (35*) saw saints home inside 27 overs.

Elsewhere in Division Six, Taunton A beat Winscombe II by two runs, with A Derry taking five wickets.

F Travis (54) top scored for Taunton in a total of 182 all out – and Derry helped seal the narrowest of wins with 5-42.

Taunton Deane Cavaliers thrashed Shapwick and Polden III by five wickets, after bowling them out for just 50.

S Giles was chief destroyer with 5-8 from nine overs.

Taunton Deane Crusaders crashed to a 76-run defeat at home to Barrington II in Division Seven.

Chasing 223 to win, Deane were all out for 146 despite the best efforts of M Phillips and K Ashton (both 36).
