THE Somerset Rebels will once again be featured live on TV with the Sky Sports cameras coming to the Oaktree Arena to broadcast the Rebels up-coming top of the table clash against Edinburgh.

Widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s top race-tracks, the Oaktree Arena has featured prominently whenever Sky Sports has covered Premier League racing, with this being the seventh year in succession that their cameras have been to the home of the Rebels.

With the Premier League season reaching its business end, both Somerset and Edinburgh are currently looking for a top two finish in the league table with which to enter the Championship-deciding play-offs.

The sides finishing 1st and 2nd at the end of the regular season receiving byes directly through to the semi-final round of those play-offs.

The match itself has all the hallmarks of it being another classic meeting, as was the case back in 2013 when the two sides played out an epic encounter in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The last two seasons has also seen the two sides go head to head in the Premier League Championship Grand Final, with Somerset winning in 2013 to claim their first ever league title, but lost out by a single race-point to the Monarchs in last year’s thrilling final.

“We are honoured to have been selected once again for a live broadcast by the Sky cameras and they couldn’t have picked a better meeting than the visit of Edinburgh to the Oaktree Arena,” said Somerset Promoter Debbie Hancock.

“It does mean, however, that the match which was originally scheduled for Wednesday August 19 will be brought forward to Tuesday, August 11.”

“We are looking into reducing our standard admission prices for the night as we want to pack out the Oaktree Arena for the cameras, and will be making an announcement on this shortly.”
