BRIDGWATER advanced to the WEPL final of the National Twenty20 club championships with two excellent victories over Taunton St Andrews and Keynsham at the Parks on Sunday.

Bridgwater began the day with a confidence, building a four-wicket victory over Taunton St Andrews, after chasing down their competitive total of 140 with eight balls to spare.

Captain Steve Davis was the pick of the bowlers for Bridgwater, conceding only eight runs from his four overs.

Chris Skidmore (2-17) also bowled superbly for the home side, picking up the vital wicket of Regan for just three.

In reply, Mitch Windsor was once again the star of the show with a brilliant 74 not out, hitting eight sixes, as he and Chris Skidmore (28no) saw Bridgwater home with a seventh wicket partnership of 75.

After Saints had beaten Keynsham in the second game of the day, Bridgwater still had one more game to negotiate in order to advance to the next round.

Bridgwater bowled first and found themselves chasing a similar total of 141.

Chris Skidmore (3-13) was once again in fine form with a superb spell of fast bowling, removing both Keynsham openers before returning later in the innings to dismiss Mark Branton (39).

There were also two wicket hauls for Singleton, Roberts and Van Der Berg as Keysham set Bridgwater seven runs an over for victory.

Mitch Windsor recorded his second half century of the day (67) but it still took Bridgwater until the final over to surpass Keynsham’s total as the home side won with three balls to spare.

Windsor was ably supported by George Bartlett (32no) and Andrew Skidmore blasted a late six to ensure victory for Bridgwater, who advance to the WEPL final.
