ENMORE Park Seniors began a heavy June programme with a home fixture against the seniors from the Mendip club.
The day began with annoying drizzle which did clear, however it was the extremely strong, gusty wind which proved to be an important factor in shot selection, and it was the Mendip team who prevailed by four and a half matches to three and a half.
Points for Enmore were won by Peter Sherry with Dave Capron and Roger Anniss with Ray Lukeski, both by 3 & 2, Iain Stewart with Chris Topps (1 up), whilst Steve James with veteran Phil Wood halved their encounter.
Next up for Enmore was the always pleasant trip to the links course at Weston-super-Mare, where the weather was an almost perfect early summer's day.
With the course in lovely condition Enmore could only repeat the score line, losing by the close margin of four and a half matches to three and a half. There were three fine outright wins by Max Jameson with John Newell (4 & 3), captain Mike Perry with Dave Pascoe (3 & 2) and Roger Anniss with Jim Symcox (3 & 2), whilst Jess Lawrence with Martin Watson gained a half point.
