BRIDGWATER Sports lost out in the final of the Seward Cup, going down 3-2 in extra-time to Ash Rangers.

It was Ash who took the lead through George Scutt but Mason Gill equalised for Sports.

Ash regained the lead through Benn Bartlett but with time running out it looked like Rangers had the victory but right at the end up popped Simon Caddy to force the game to extra time.

For the third time in the game Ash took the lead again this time through Tom Wadham and were able to hold on to take the trophy.

In Division One, Sampford Blues final game in the TDSFL ended in a 6-2 defeat to Staplegrove.

Blues took the early lead by Craig Lawrence. Scott Reynolds brought Grove back level but Lawrence scored his and his club’s second to restore Sampford’s lead.

After the break Adam Smith levelled things up again and that was the kick start Grove needed to up their game. They went on to win 6-2 with Reynolds hitting a total of four and Carl Edwards adding the sixth.

Division Two, a win for Watchet Town Reserves against Westonzoyland would not get them out of the bottom two but it would end their season on a high and that is what happened.

They won the game 2-1 with two goals from Danny Mossman, Jack Millard replied for Westonzoyland.

In Division Three, having only secured just two points all season Highbridge Town Reserves had a huge 8-1 victory over Redgate - with Mike Green and Simon Fouracres both getting hat tricks and Stuart Green adding one.

Ben Carp of Redgate hit a great a great half volley into his own net and Sam Anthony got the Redgate consolation.

Bridgwater Sports are still on target for runners-up spot after their 5-1 away win at Galmington Dragons. Their hero was the 42-year-old left back Richard Smith who scored a hat trick, the first a 25 yard free kick, Callum James and Paul Organ got one each, Johnny Limm replied for Dragons.

Norton Fitzwarren and Exmoor Rangers ended honours even at 2-2 - Ben Gregory and Joel Cornish scored for the away side with Lewis Coward and Mark Beckhurst doing the same for Norton.

In a typical end of season game both North Petherton Reserves and Staplegrove Colts in Division Four, saw Pethy win 6-1 – Lewis Buller scored a hat-trick for Pethy.

In Division Five, East Bower finished their season with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of The Gallery Reserves, where a victory would have secured them a top two place.

On Tuesday The Gallery also played and this was against Fivehead where they won 4-2.

Bishops Lydeard Colts also played on Tuesday evening and had a convincing 7-0 away win at Morganians Reserves, both Shane Hills and Matt Harris scoring two each, Ross Udall, Harry Burston and Andrew Springer adding one each. But Morganians Reserves beat Nether Stowey Reserves 3-2 on Saturday, despite strikes from Jake Brown and Danny Plowright - Daniel Frost scored two of the Morganians goals with Gage Jodkowski netting the third.
