Wells City Reserves 2, Burnham United 1
BURNHAM United are now without a win in four games following a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Wells City Reserves on Saturday.
Anthony Cleave scored Burnham’s only goal of the game, tucking away a rebound five minutes from time – but the damage had been done by Wells goals either side of half-time.
Wells got off to a flying start and took the lead after four minutes when George Carey crossed for Ashley Crowther to head home.
United thought they had equalised a minute before the break, but the referee blew for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Russell doubled Wells’ lead with a 30-yard screamer into the top corner – and with 85 minutes on the clock, Cleave saw a header hit the post before tucking away the rebound.
