AVISHAYES Falcons Under-15s finally met their match in Milborne Port in the quarter-finals of the Youth Shield, losing 3-0 at home.
The Division One team inflicted a first defeat of the season for Avishayes.
But it was Avishayes who had the better of the first-half without either goal being threatened thanks to some great defending from both sides.
The second-half was more box to box than the first.
Avishayes went close with Harrison Morris ging one-on-one with the keeper but putting it past the post.
Then Milborne Port bagged their first, a needless free-kick put in the top corner of the Avishayes goal.
This first was closely followed by another, a ball over the top allowing their striker to latch onto it and lob the keeper.
Despite the two-goal deficit the Falcons kept fighting and were unlucky to concede a third, a lack of communication allowing an easy goal.
