OAKE Manor ladies held their AGM on Tuesday after a fun Medford Competition in lovely sunshine.

The captaincy was formally handed over to Patricia Frazer by the outgoing captain Cathy Sheppard at a very well-attended meeting. A large collection of beautifully polished silver trophies for the Ladies were displayed and the meetng culminated in a presentation of those trophies not also given out at the main club AGM today (Thursday).

Jenny Swann won the Grannies Goblet to add to her large collection of trophies over the years.

Sue Reed, a relatively new player, richly deserved the Burrough Cup; Sally Thomas (absent) won the Eileen Scragg Salver; Rosemary Webber won the Senior Ladies Trophy; Kathy Salway won the Barbara Cozens Trophy and the Fran Thompson Trophy to add to her ever-growing pile and finally Jill Loader was a most popular winner of the Angela Davies Cup for the most improved golfer of the year. She also collected the LGU Breakthrough Brooch on behalf of her daughter Kathryn.

The results of the Ladies Stableford that took place on Sunday, March 8 were: 1st Liz How with 28 points, 2nd Claire Tough 27 points and 3rd Jill Loader with 26.

The Men’s Stableford results for Saturday, March 14 were : Division one – S Hopes 40 points, Jamie Ward 39pts, Richard Beasley 37pts. Then followed a bunch all at 35 points, in count back order Ian Loader, Lee Ayres and Neil Blackmore.

Division two – Charles Hardman 41pts, Alan Harman and John Lowe 37 pts, Terry Adams and Wayne Milton 36 pts (in countback order).
