RICHARD Huish College finished third in the national schools trophy after an action-packed competition.

The team made the long journey to the National Squash Centre in Manchester to take part in the finals day under the guidance of Lee O’Donnel.

The day started with a quarter-finals tie against Berkhamstead School, which saw the Huish team, made up of Oliver Hacker, James McCouat, Adam Lewis, Kate Lockyer and Chris Weymouth all win their respective games to clinch a 5-0 victory.

In the semi-finals Huish came up against stiff competition against Wellington College.

The game went to a decider at 2-2 and Huish were unlucky to lose the fifth match.

This led Huish into a third place play-off game against Windsor when the scores were again tied at 2-2.

However this time Huish No1 Oliver Hacker won the decider.
