MINEHEAD remain rooted to the foot of Central 1 in the Davis Wood league after suffering a 6-2 defeat at home to Marlborough.

The away team were gifted two first half goals following a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes from Jeanes in the centre of the Minehead defence.

After the home team pulling a goal back through Nick Hill, Marlborough regained their two goal cushion right at the start of the second half through a short corner.

Marlborough scored their fourth midway through the half and despite Hill reducing the deficit to 4-2 with his second, two late Marlborough goals added a bit of gloss to the final scoreline.

Civil Service went on to retake the lead only for Archie Marsh to draw the teams’ level once more with a good finish into the roof of the net. But for the third time the home team breached the Minehead defence.
