YEAR 7 boys from Court Fields school narrowly missed out on a place in the county Futsal finals when they contested the area qualifier at Castle School.
They began well with a 1-0 defeat of Heathfield, enjoying some excellent passages of passing backed up by cat-like goalkeeping from Sullivan Harlow.
Court Fields followed up with further 1-0 victories over Taunton Academy and Bishop Foxes before facing Castle in the decider.
Trailing 1-0 with a minute to go, Court Fields managed to equalise when a quick-thinking kick-in by Cameron Perry-Jones saw Harry Sloman knock the ball past the keeper and in at the far post.
Unfortunately for them, a well-taken corner and an even better header just beat Harlow to give Castle a 2-1 victory.
Castle thereby earned a spot in the finals to be held at Millfield School in the summer.
