Ashley Grist, Tom Merritt and Aaron Sellick scored for Cougars with John Walsh and Kurtis Selway replying for Grove. Ash Rangers move up to third after a 6-0 away win at Williton. Harvey Puddy and Benn Bartlett scored a pair each, George Scutt added one with Williton providing the sixth with an own goal.

Galmington Dragons reserves continued where they left off the previous week, battling hard and putting together some good moves against Middlezoy Athletic.

At half time it was still 0-0 and Dragons came out looking to exert their dominance.

Soon they were a goal up with a well-taken header from Isaac Dubb and looked like they would go on and win.

Middlezoy had different ideas and found an equaliser.

Division One Bridgwater Sports needed to get back on form to keep their ambition of winning the league come true and it doesn’t get any harder than playing Loco-motives. In this top-of-the-table clash both teams started strongly but Sports scored the first when Paul Organ converted an outstanding scissor kick from a deep corner. Locos put plenty of pressure on the Sports defence but shortly before half time Sports added a second after fantastic pressing play from Organ forced a defensive muddle that resulted in a cool finish from Matt Stevenson.

A strong second half start from Locos saw them force an excellent effort on goal that clipped the top of Sports’ bar but almost immediately the score was 3-0 after a great counter-attack by the reds who were looking more dangerous on the break. Locos continued to put pressure on Sports but their defence led by veterans Fellows, Bale and Govier held superbly as Sports looked very dangerous on the counter attack, forcing the Locos keeper into action on numerous occasions.

Late in the game Matt Stevenson made it 4-0 after being gifted the ball by a Locos defender and from here Sports held out comfortably for a deserved victory to finish 2014 at the top of the league.

A depleted Tone Youth travelled across town to Staplegrove reserves and took the game to the hosts in the first half, taking the lead through an excellent Chris Grave free kick.

Staplegrove responded with an equally well-taken goal from Dave Ryan to level the game.

Stuart Glover then made it 2-1 straight from the re-start with a well placed strike from close range, but Tone youth were left to regret several wasted opportunities to put the game beyond Staplegrove before half time.

With only 11 players and a few carrying knocks, Staplegrove took control in the second half, keeping the ball well and using this to their advantage. Jack Porter got the scores back level at 2-2 and then the fitter Grove side controlled the game with Jack Porter getting his second and putting Grove in front. Sub Chris Sealy entered the fray and made it 4-2 before player/manager Scott Reynolds rounded off the proceedings to make it 5-2 and move his side out of the bottom two. Wyvern Rangers had a good afternoon, beating Porlock 8-0 thanks to braces from both James Melhuish and Louis Murrel, with Joe Enticott, Rob Woodman, Tom Melhuish all adding one each.

Division Two There was only one game in this division with Dulverton beating Minehead reserves 6-1. Connery Attwell scored the consolation for Minehead, with Will Lewis hitting a hat- trick for Dulverton. Carl Hooper, Toby Cottrell and Adam Kelalnd all added one each.

Division Three Alcombe Rovers reserves took the initiative straight from the whistle against Exmoor Rangers, putting pressure on the home side.

And this told with an early goal from Jason Woodhouse who finished well to put Exmoor on the back foot.

Alcombe kept the pressure on, playing some good football up and down the flanks, and the got their rewards as they were 3-0 up within 30 minutes. Adam Jeffries helped himself to three goals and Jordan Lenthall added one to give them a 5-1 victory. Sean Meade scored the Rangers goal. It was an even game between Norton Fitzwarren and Galmington Dragons until Norton received two red cards, reducing them to nine men.

At this point Dragons took full advantage and finally won the goal 5-0. Oliver Tucker scored two and Charlie Bevan three.

Bridgwater Sports reserves beat Tone Youth reserves 3-1 thanks to two strikes from George Turner and one from Brendan Pope. Steve Reed scoring for Tone.

Division Five Bishops Lydeard Colts and North Curry drew 3-3. Shane Hills scored twice for the home side and Josh Webb got the other.

On target for Curry were Joe Gratton, Rob Watts and Dan Mottram. Fivehead fell behind to Net-her Stowey reserves after ten minutes they could easily have been two or three up but were thwarted by good defending.

Fivehead had a corner that Kev Muckersie took and a good flick on from Kev Rawle enabled the ball to fall to Andrew Male to chest down and fire home his first goal of the season.

In the second half Stowey took total control and won 5-1.

Kieran Shevlin scored a fine individual goal after taking on three players before slotting it in the bottom corner to give Hamilton Athletic Foxes the lead against Bridgwater Sports Colts.

Shevlin then converted a penalty to make it 2-0 before 43-year-old captain Andy Simmons hit a lovely low drive from outside the box. Dan Bidgway also scored a great goal after a determined run, putting the ball calmly past the keeper.

Ed and Gary Howes got two back for Sports but the game ended 4-2 in Hamilton’s favour.
