White Eagles 2, Burnham Ladies 1
BURNHAM'S stuttering form continued as they dropped more points on the road.
It was a tale of two halves as they found themselves 2-0 down at the break, having never really got going at all in the first half.
However, they were a different team in the second - playing more as a team in both defence and attack they created numerous chances and should have at least got level with their hosts, if not won.
Caroline Hunt and Amy Edmundson went close but the Eagles GKwas in inspired form.
She made a superb double save from Carly Bush who looked certain to score at the back post before Charlotte Danks was denied after more great wing play from Kerry Harvey.
A sweet flowing move from back to front ended with a pinpoint cross from Louise Peace which Harvey just swept wide. With Sarah Johnson, Chelsea Fisher and Jenna Bushell looking strong and composed in defence, Bush and Emma Jarrett were feisty in the midfield winning their tackles and driving their team on with great determination.
A succession of short corners put the home side under more pressure and eventually Hunt managed to stab the ball in after their gk had made another good save.
Unfortunately this came a little too late and the blues just did not have the time left to force an equaliser.
