BRIDGWATER edged a ten-goal thriller against a strong PGSOB side thanks to a hat-trick from Tom Lott.

PGSOB started stronger and got the opening goal, but Bridgwater fought their way into the game and scored through Lott, who slotted home from a ball by Martin James.

With the teams looking even at the break, Bridgwater had one final short corner, and the ball rebounded to James, who found Matt Upham to slot the ball home and take the lead.

The second half started the same with PGSOB levelling the match.

The game was end to end, and another short corner saw Bridgwater take the lead through James.

The next goal would go to PGSOB, but then the game changed dramatically.

Bridgwater lost a player for a late challenge, but two quick goals by Lott put them in front.

Bridgwater managed a sixth from Cam Birch and PGSOB scored a late consolation goal.

Bridgwater Ladies 0, Winscombe 5

BRIDGWATER faced a well drilled Winscombe side who moved the ball well from back to front.

Bridgwater pressed well and turned over the ball several times from the Winscombe 16s.

Penalty corners were won at both ends and both keepers were tested.

Bridgwater struggled to convert their chances – Donna Cooper came closest with a goalmouth scramble.

Winscombe put away their chances reflecting their position as table toppers.

Bridgwater Ladies II 2, Winscombe II 2

BRIDGWATER Ladies II took a share of the spoils in this draw.

Jules Griffiths built the play from midfield, feeding Kath Briggs and Megan Weston in attack.

Briggs soon scored to put Bridgwater ahead, but unusually their basic skills were not at their best and a mis-hit led to a Winscombe forward levelling.

Soon after an unmarked Winscombe forward slapped a second into the goal.

A well worked Bridgwater move saw Karen Chilcott score a well deserved goal to make the final scores even.

Bridgwater C 1, West Dorset A 2

BRIDGWATER C slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat to West Dorset on Saturday.

Swift, accurate passing exposed the opposition’s lack of players and saw Alex Ward win a short corner. The ball came out to Davidge, who hit a dream shot which was heroically deflected on to the bar, but Pigden pounced.

Dorset equalised, and just as the game looked done they scored again.

Bridgwater finally found their rhythm and won a short corner which came out to Batten who floated the ball in off the post.

Bridgwater V 2, Yeovil and Sherborne IV 2

YEOVIL ended the first half stronger having taken the lead, despite Kettlewell and Date both creating chances for Bridgwater from short corners.

With a young team Bridgwater created a couple more chances with Jackson scoring from a well worked short corner from Date.

Moments later a young Syvret got the ball from a Yeovil defender and slipped the ball to Gillespie, whose expert pass found Jackson, who buried the ball into the goal for 2-2.
