CHARD will be looking to erase the memory of Saturday’s 4-0 league defeat when they entertain Wells City in the Somerset Premier Cup tonight (7.30pm).
Robins manager Adam Fricker was planning to use give a chance to a few other squad members a game in the cup but has changed his mind following the reverse at the hands of Warminster Town.
Fricker said: “After Saturday I think our priority to to get ourselves back on track and ready for Saturday’s home league game with Devizes.
“But I’m certainly not pressing the panic button. Saturday’s result was really a one-off.
“It was just a bad day at the office – there were seven or eight players who just didn’t seem to turn up on the day. It was quite of of character with how we have performed throughout the season till now.”
Striker Adam Cole, who works in Bristol, will be unable to make the game but the Robins will otherwise be pretty much at full strength.
Full-back George Chlopecki, who was on the bench on Saturday as the returns from a hamstring injury, may have to wait until the Devizes game before he sees a return to action.
