Jupiter 42, Poole B 25

JUPITER'S first away fixture resulted in a 42-25 victory at Poole.

The first quarter was very closely matched with numerous tips and interceptions from both teams, however Poole had the upper hand leading 10-9.

Set defensive play from Jupiter kept them in the game and created chances for them to convert turnovers into goals, with strong support from Amy Shaw.

Going into the second half, now with a 17-14 lead, a tactical swap in Jupiter's centre court allowed the team to adapt to Poole's defence.

Player of the match Lisa Lukins dominated the defensive circle, continuously creating turnovers and leading Jupiter to a 42-25 victory.

Saturn 46, Wyndham 33

SATURN put in a strong performance to edge out Wyndham on Saturday.

Determined to come out with a win Saturn upped their game and with outstanding defence and rebounding from Emma Cock - combined with turnovers and supportive play from Imma Matcham, Saturn took an eight goal lead.

Well timed tips and interceptions on the defensive circle from Rachel Simpson meant Michelle Stone was able to bring the ball safely down the court and into the circle, where Morganne Dunn continued to impress with great shooting.

Neptune 34, Walton Black 30

NEPTUNE started strong with great defensive work in the circle from Julie McLean and player of the match Sally Haysham, meaning they finished the first quarter in front.

The next quarter started well with good centre court work from Chris Durrant and Annia Holleron, allowing Neptune to maintain their lead.

Venus 41, Priory 31

VENUS secured a ten-point victory over Priory thanks to a tireless performance.

They started off well, with great attacking play from Darcie Dunn and Hannah Setter, who shot accurately to enable Venus to finish the first quarter with an 11-8 lead.

Cath Clark and Olivia Shorthouse worked well together to bring the ball smoothly down the court, with consistent support from player of the match Saskia Middleton.

All players worked tirelessly and applied pressure throughout, securing them a win of 41-31.

Mars 29, Minstrels 27

EAGER to get their first win of the season Mars played with great determination and kept the score line tight, trailing by only two after the first quarter.

Great circle defence from Coleen Bartlett and Emily Rossiter resulted in several interceptions which were taken swiftly and accurately down the court by player of the match Olivia Shorthouse.

Great feeding into the circle from Chloe Trout to Cerys Etheridge meant Mars were able to retain the lead and claim their first win of the season.

Mercury 63, Walton Green 27

MERCURY went to Walton on Saturday hoping to continue with their winning ways.

Facing an under strength Walton side, excellent shooting by Juste Mockeliunaite and Darcie Dunn saw Mercury have a half time lead of 34 goals to Walton 11.

Making her debut for the Mercury side was Charlotte Setter who came on as WA, helping the side to win 63 - 27.
