TIVERTON welterweight Bradley Riggs boxes for the southern division of the Western Counties title at the Budehaven Leisure Centre in Cornwall tonight (Friday).
He faces Camborne’s Ashley Sparks over three, two minute rounds without head-guards for the first time following the introduction of new rules for all boxers over 18.
Also in action for Tiverton ABC this weekend is Callan Bryant who faces a rematch with home town boy Nick Forrest at Barnstable Rugby Club tomorrow. The two boxers met on Barnstaple’s last show in June when Bryant took the verdict.
Coach Paul Harvey this week reported that both boxers are looking very good in training and expects two victories for the club this weekend.
Tickets are selling fast for the Tiverton show on October 25 at the Heathcoat Club.
Boxers from the Holland Park club in Basildon, Essex are making the long journey down – including Tey Lynn-Jones who faces Bideford’s Jack Langford.
Both are highly-rated boxers and an excellent bout is in prospect.
Tickets can be obtained from the bar at the Heathcoat Club or by contacting Paul Harvey on 01884-256282.
