A WIN over bottom club Cheriton was not quite enough to earn promotion for Tiverton as they finished the season just one point behind Exwick in Division F of the Devon cricket league.
After inviting Cheriton to bat first Tiverton bowled tightly with excellent spells from all the bowlers, skipper Brendon Parr taking 2-12 and Jerry Reed 2-27.
B Coe finished unbeaten on 45 for Cheriton as they struggled to 106-7.
In reply Tiverton lost both openers in quick concession off the bowling of Coe.
However Parr and Dan Reed soon got the bit between their teeth and knocked off the runs within 23 overs.
Parr finished unbeaten on 47 and Reed 44 not out as Tiverton finished on 107-2.
