ENMORE Seniors made the relatively short journey to the Oake Manor course and, although suffering a defeat, made a good effort on the day, losing by three matches to five.
Outright wins were secured by Merv. Slocombe with Brian Parker, and John Parker with Jim Smith, both by 2 & 1.
Two games were halved by Chris Topps with Jim Symcox and Dave Pascoe with Mike Cavill.
Next up was a home fixture against Clevedon seniors and the same score, three matches to five, was the outcome.
Captain John Newell with Chris Bishop and Mark Saxton with Mike Cavill both won by 2 & 1. Two matches were halved, Robert Jones with Paul Waplington, and Jim Symcox with Chris Topps.
The final fixture for August was at the south coast course of Lyme Regis.
On a blustery day, and coping with uneven greens after recent maintenance, Enmore competed well by sharing the honours in a six group match.
Points were won by Mark Saxton with John Patterson with a splendid 6 & 5 victory, whilst Ray Hancock with Mike Perry and Peter Robinson with Tony Pomeroy both won 1 up.
