Huntspill & District 228-7 beat East Coker 222-8 by six runs
HUNTSPILL & District retained their Division 3 status with a battling six-run victory over East Coker on Saturday.
Sam Lillycrop fell just six short of a century as Huntspill posted 228-7, thanks also to an unbeaten 55 from Matt Counsell.
Coker’s reply had been running smoothly with J. Morton leading the way with a brilliant 101, but Huntspill fought back with a flurry of wickets as Counsell (3-38) and Jake Randall (3-51) picked up three wickets apiece.
P. Willingale fell for 44 and D. Rowe for 20, and from here on in Hunstpill were in charge.
M. Crawford (1-18) and Lillycrop (1-49) also played their part with important spells as Huntspill sealed a dramatic victory by a narrow margin.
