Ashcott & Shapwick 86 lost to Bristol 89-1 by nine wickets
ASHCOTT and Shapwick’s relegation from Premier One is now mathematically confirmed following a nine-wicket destruction at Bristol on Saturday.
Ashcott were rolled for just 86 batting first with only three players making it into double figures, as Rhys Williams (4-37) and William Rudge (2-9) doing the damage.
Nayan Karmarkar (14), Wayne Spencer (14) and James Haggett (14) top scored the league strugglers as they all out in the 32nd over.
In reply, Bristol ensured a very early finish, racing to their target in just nine overs, as Steve Snell (55no) and Tom Smith (28no) smashed the ball to all parts.
James Haggett took the solitary wicket for Ashcott to finish with 1-27, but the rest of the bowlers took some punishment, including Gareth Harte who went for 23 from one over.
Ashcott finish the season with a home fixture against Taunton St Andrews, who are fighting to avoid relegation before a final week derby at Bridgwater
