MARTYN Boley scored a magnificent 154 not out to fire Wedmore to a six wicket victory over East Coker in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League.
Remarkably, Boley’s scored more than three quarters of his side’s total, as they chased 207-4 with relative ease.
Phil Patch was the next highest scorer for Wedmore, with 15 – after Boley had earlier taken 2-31 with the ball.
N Emery (2-60) was also in the wickets as East Coker were held to 204-6 batting first.
But from here on in, it was all about Boley as he thrashed his way past 150 to secure a memorable win for his side.
In Division Five, East Huntspill slumped to a 37-run defeat at the hands of Lydford as they were bowled out for just 119.
K Crenol took 2-34 and P Bagg (1-32) in Lydford’s total of 156-7 – but Easts’ reply never got going, with only Rob Pomeroy (31) Bagg (27no) providing any score of substance.
Wedmore A suffered a heavy seven wicket defeat to Sparkford in Division 8S courtesy of a pedestrian batting performance.
