TWO of the winning quartet from last Sunday's Texas Scramble at Brean Golf Club again tasted success in the August Monthly Stableford on Saturday.

Dave Bradley had the best score of the day as he returned 42 points to take Division Two from Steven Eley who had 40.

Hodgson was similarly victorious in the top flight, for the second month running, with 41 points but he only held a single point advantage over Steve Mason.

Bradley and Hodgson both had their handicaps duly reduced as did Eley who has now moved up to Division One for next month’s events.

Division Three scoring didn't reach the same heights as 36 points was good enough for a win for newcomer Marc Birt. Runner up to Birt was Vic Burnell on 35.

Suzanne Hatfield returned 38 points to win the Ladies event from Gail Mason.

The Seniors Over 65 Shield was won by Jeremy Savill on Tuesday. As Savill is the Seniors Treasurer he didn't have to look too far to find who to pay the winners money out to after his card of 41 points edged out the ever consistent Pete Douglas on countback.

Third place went to Mike Drayton with a 38 point haul.

Steven Eley, better known as Manc to many, took top spot in the Midweek Stableford with a score of 39 points. Runner up two points behind was Clive Goode on 37 with Wayne Barrett continuing his good form with 36 points to take 3rd.
