A TOTAL of 116 Taunton and Pickeridge Ladies and their guests took part in the 4 Ball Team Event on Tuesday.

The competition was played as a Bowmaker Stableford with two scores to count.

At the end of an enjoyable round the winners were Shane Bordier, Rosemary Webber, Sandra Lawrence and Mandy Vickers with 87 points.

Second place went to Christine Coombes, Ros Williams, Julia Cole and Jackie Slocombe with 83 points, one ahead of third-placed Ros Wills, Ginny Farnworth-Smith, Gill Jowett and Aideen Roche with 82.

Nearest the pin (Bronze) on the 6th hole was won by Anna Rees while for the Silver it was won by Linda Lynch.

The Longest drive (Bronze) on the 9th hole was won by Ros Williams and for Silver it was Rose Jarvis while the hidden spot prize on first hole was won by Mary-Jo Shepherd A total of £250 was raised for the Ladies’ Captain’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK. The Men’s Section Friday Stableford was won by Justin Lane with 37 points, four ahead of second placed Andy Clarke, while Oliver Reed was third with 31.

The Weekend Stableford was won by Kieran Hector with 39points, Ian Thresher with 38 was second after count back edged him in front of Matthew Gray on the same score.

Sue Walsh was the winner of the Senior Ladies’ Rose Bowl Stableford with 39 points two ahead of second placed Roisin Burree with 37, while Heather Crump with 34.

The Vintage Veterans’ Cup was won by Pat Follett with 38 points four better than second placed Liz Davies with 34, who edged in front of third placed Janet Smart on the same score.
