COMBE St Nicholas beat Drimpton 3-2 in the final of the Tom Facey Cup.

Drimpton started strongly at Combe's ground and seemed hungry for the ball.

And after ten minutes they went 1-0 up with a bullet header from a set piece.

Combe, who were still finding their feet, conceded a second when a back pass found its way into the net.

That seemed just the spur Combe needed to raised their game and they began to play with passion and cohesion.

Some swift passing and good movement saw them pull the score back to 2-1 by half time.

Combe started the second half as they finished the first and entertained the crowds with some classy football.

Ian Bandfield found the back of the net after 75 minutes with a powerful shot to make it 2-2.

Drimpton kept fighting and closed Combe down making it harder for them to pass the ball.

With tired legs Combe were not keen to go extra time and thanks to Dylan Moss there was no need to. A goalmouth scramble enabled him to sneak a goal with two minutes to go.

Andrew Denning lifted the Tom Facey Cup for Combe B, the first time the club has managed to win it.

The competition raised £500 which was handed over to Sarah Facey in the form of a cheque for the charity Click. Drimpton made a donation to Click as well.
