East Huntspill 127 lost to Baltonsborough 241-4 by 114 runs

EAST Huntspill had an afternoon to forget on Saturday as they were thumped by 114 runs by Baltonsborough.

Chasing an imposing 241-4 from 37 overs in a rain-reduced contest, East slipped to 127 all out in 28.2 overs, despite the best efforts of M Crook (41).

Earlier, the East bowlers had been put to the sword by the Baltonsborough batsmen, as G Winstone (95) and J Miller (47) plundered the bowling to all parts of the ground.

T Holley (31) and P Creed (24no) also chipped in with quick-fire cameos to fire the visitors to a huge total in a reduced game.

Rob Pomeroy (2-47) was the pick of the East bowlers with an impressive opening spell, while there was also mone wicket apiece for A Penwill (1-65) and M Crook (1-26).

The hosts’ chase was never really on track as they lost Jamie Melhuish (1) and Andy Chedzey (5) for single figures.

Crook and K Butt (26) did their best to rebuild the innings, but when they were both dismissed the innings fizzled out, leaving A Barron (3-49) to claim the final wicket.

A Steele (4-20) was the pick of the Baltonsborough bowlers with four wickets.
