HAYGROVE School’s under-15 boys’ cricket team took the ‘Chance to Compete’ regional title at Bristol Grammar School last week.
The Bridgwater boys played teams from across the south of England, winning three of their first round games comfortably despite bowler Max Cattle suffering an injury.
Their fourth match was a thriller against Dorset, sealed by a final ball wicket from Max Sellick.
In the final, Haygrove were winners by 11 runs against their Hampshire opponents, having scored 59 from their six overs batting first.
Haygrove will now go on to play in the ‘Chance to Compete’ finals at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in September
