MEL Millar scored a double whammy in a recent golfing event when she managed to score two holes-in-one.

The Best Putter in the Club event, sponsored by PING, was a competitive affair with six players tied on 16, but it was Millar who pipped her fellow players to the prize on countback with two holes-in-one shots on the last three holes to claim victory.

Millar was presented with a PING Moonlight golf bag by Nigel Wixon.

Elsewhere, the standard of golf in the Nigel Wixon Ruby Trophy was excellent as George Alexiou claimed top prize among 160 competitors.

Jayne Errington had the best score out of 24 ladies on the day with 40 points, while Keith Miller, who headed out on to the course early, led the field for hours on an 41.

By mid-afternoon, Terry Hodge and Scott Bovington had matched Keith’s score, along with Gary Cook and soon-to-be winner Alexiou, who also pulled off matching 41 scores.

But it was Alexiou who had the last lauch with a better back nine and a birdie on the 18th to lift the trophy and enjoy bragging rights over his boss.
