ANDY Chedzey starred for East Huntspill in their 61 run victory over Weston-super-Mare III in Division Five of the Somerset Cricket League.

Chedzey took 5-20 to help dismiss Weston for just 117, after strong contributions from N Hodge (30), M Edwards (24) and D Kidner (25) took Easts to 178-9.

In Division Three, rain brought an early end to proceedings at North Perrott, where Wedmore's game was firmly in the balance.

Chasing 216-6, Wedmore were 162-8 when the rain came, with D Haining 48 not out.

J Burgess (2-41) and L Young (2-42) had earlier helped to restrict Perrott to a par score.

In Division 9NW, Lympsham II were comfortable nine-wicket victors over Huntspill and District, thanks to half centuries from R Ford (67no) and A Hall (54).

The pair were in impressive form with the bat, as Lympsham cruised to their target of 130 - after Huntspill had been bowled out for just 130, batting first.

Elsewhere in the division, Wedmore A's game with Leigh-on-Mendip ended in a rain induced draw, with the hosts in a strong position.

Wedmore had reduced Leigh to 77-5, having earlier posted 163-8 thanks to 65 from T Fozzard.
