Somerset Cricket League round-up - Hill hundred fires Bridgwater A to victory

JOHN Hill scored a masterful century for Bridgwater A as they beat Ilton by six wickets in Division One of the Somerset Cricket League.
Hill batted throughout the innings to score 113no as Bridgwater chased down 204 to win.
Earlier, Mike Skidmore (4-15) and Dan Andison (3-60) were both in the wickets during Ilton’s first innings total of 203-8.
Middlezoy were the winners in a rain affected game at Temple Cloud – having reached 205-1 in pursuit of 248-56 when the weather set in.
Jay Darrell took the plaudits in Kilve’s four wicket victory over Watchet in Division Two.
Darrell took 5-34 to help restrict Watchet to 213-9 batting first, before scoring 35 as Kilve reached their target with four wickets to spare.
P Stone (37), C James (30no) and Carl Clemenson (29no) helped see Kilve over the finish line.
Elsewhere in Division Two, North Newton won a rain affected contest with Barrington – Newton scored 216-7, while Barrington had reached 86-8 when the rain came.
In Division Five, Mark were beaten by 51 runs by Lydford as they failed to chase down 199.
Tim Moxey (46) and Tim Cattermole (26) top scored for Mark, but they fell well short.
Earlier, S Mason (3024) was the pick of the bowlers for Mark.
J Gardner was the hero for Chilton Polden in their 143 run triumph over Castle Cary II.
Gardner scored an unbeaten 78 and took 4-28 as Polden chased down 215 for victory.
Wembdon Wyverns slumped to a 33-run reverse at Taunton Deane Crusaders in Division Seven – and in Division 8S, Bridgwater Sports were comfortable winners over struggling Belvedere.
D Woolridge (4-24) was in fine form to help bowl the visitors out for just 70 – B Winter top scored for Sports in their total of 144-9.
G Purchase (73) and A Clapp (50) both hit half-centuries for Middlezoy II, but they still slipped to a 15-run defeat at Spaxton.
D Court (63) and D Pople (62) starred with the bat for Spaxton, who were all out 232.
Wembdon Academy thrashed Chilton Polden II by126 runs thanks to 6-23 from J Caswell and 63 from J prior.
C Saunders returned 6-50 for Chilton, but they were thoroughly outplayed.
