PADBROOK Park’s Seniors reached the semi finals of the Emerton Court Trophy with a 7-3 win over Dawlish Warren.

The match, which is played over two legs, was almost decided when Padbrook secured a whitewash in the home leg winning 5-0.

Four of the matches saw 4&3 wins while the other was 3&2.

That meant Padbrook needed just a half point from the five matches played on the South Devon links.

Gordon Campbell and John Emerton won 5&4 while Jim Kennard and Stuart Penfold won by two holes, adding away wins to their victories at Padbrook. Tavistock will be Padbrook’s opponents in the last eight tie.

Padbrook lost their latest East Devon League match 3.5-1.5 to defending champions Honiton.

Captain Rod Hutchings and John Locke won and there was a half for Mark Perrott and Richard Asson but the other three rubbers ended in narrow losses.

Alex Held teamed up with Barry Colbourne and Rod Hutchings to win the latest midweek Texas Scramble – they scored 31.8 points.

The two highest ranked players in the draw for the Scratch Cup are on course for a semi final clash. Curtis Edwards, who plays off +1 meets Club Champion Jamie Smith in the first round. The winner will play Steve Heath. Cary Rawlings will face Hong Chau in round two.
